Want to go to college?

Do you dream of attending college but need help navigating the process?

Seashore Family Literacy, in conjunction with College Goal Oregon, is offering free assistance in completing the forms required to obtain federal financial aid (known as FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The event takes place on Saturday, January 12, from 10am to 2pm, at Seashore Family Literacy, 125 NW Spruce St. (on Hwy 34, across from City Hall) in Waldport, Oregon.

College Goal Oregon is a free event designed to help Oregon college-bound students and their families with the financial aid application process. Everyone is invited to attend this event, including high school seniors, current students, parents/guardians and adult learners. Financial aid volunteers will be on hand to help attendees complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC) scholarship application.

Those planning to complete the FAFSA are asked to to bring their 2011 tax returns (for single students under 23, this includes parents' tax returns). All information will be kept confidential.

For more information, or to volunteer as a financial aid counselor, call 541-563-7323.

With your help

Dear Friends of Seashore Family Literacy:

Twenty years ago, Seashore Family Literacy was built on the belief that literacy can transform lives and communities.

Over the years, Seashore has grown and our programs now serve hundreds of people, including and especially, low-income, at-risk and homeless youth and families. With the recent acquisition of a permanent home — the DaNoble House — Seashore is now more stable than ever.

Your donations of time, skill and finances have helped lift and change numerous lives. We do not take these offerings lightly, and we’ve now made it easier to contribute to Seashore Family Literacy. In this giving season, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to ensure Seashore’s future.

Here’s how you can help:

 • Make a donation to the Seashore Family Literacy Permanent Fund
at West Coast Bank in Waldport, Oregon

 • Mail your donation to Seashore Family Literacy
PO Box 266, Waldport, OR 97394

 • Make a safe and secure online donation
   at http://www.seashorefamily.org/donate/

Seashore Family Literacy is a community-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, adults and families improve reading, writing, and math skills. To keep costs low, Seashore operates with very limited paid staff and engages volunteers in all programs and activities. Donations are tax-deductible (ID # 93-1255991).

Your support helps us create a learning and loving environment in which to foster strong youth, families and community.

Thank you,

A Grand Opening Celebration!

Join us as we celebrate our new home!

On Sunday, November 25, 2012
At 2pm
125 NW Spruce St.
(on Hwy 34, across from City Hall)
in Waldport, Oregon

The organization's new — and permanent! — home is a 2,200 square-foot former office building, centrally located in downtown Waldport.

“I couldn’t be happier,” says Senitila McKinley, Seashore’s founder and director. "Having our own place, one that is new, clean and permanent, will give us the stability we need to dedicate our time and energy to the community.”

In honor of the late David McKinley and Noble Carlton, Seashore's new home has been named the DaNoble House.
