 Writing Groups
With an emphasis on self-expression, Seashore offers a variety of writing programs.

► Writers Group
for 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade

Students generate fresh poetry and prose during this free, weekly dose of creative writing. In this supportive setting, writers share their work with the group, and enjoy feedback from peers and adult mentors.

Writing prompts are used to improve writing and communication skills. Sessions often include guest speakers, authors, film and field trips. The Young Writers culminate the year with publication of their stories and poems in the form of a book. A Book Launch Party celebrates the authors and their published work.

Meets Thurs, 6:30 - 8pm for dinner, creative writing and mentor support.

► Happy Hour for Young Readers & Writers
for 3rd, 4th, 5th grade

Offered as occasional, special one-week workshops.

A fun hour of structured reading & writing games. Emphasis is placed on making reading and writing fun, lively and relevant to daily life. With adult guidance, students practice the freewriting technique to improve reading, writing and vocabulary skills. While the craft and mechanics of good writing are valued, equally important is the sense of pride, accomplishment and connection that the writing process offers.
